Artist Biography
Cocteau Twins were a Scottish alternative rock band formed in Grangemouth in 1979. The band's original lineup consisted of Elizabeth Fraser on vocals, Robin Guthrie on guitar, and Will Heggie on bass. Known for their ethereal and dreamy soundscapes, Cocteau Twins quickly gained a cult following with their unique blend of post-punk, dream pop, and gothic rock. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Cocteau Twins released a series of critically acclaimed albums, including "Treasure" (1984), "Heaven or Las Vegas" (1990), and "Four-Calendar Café" (1993). Elizabeth Fraser's distinct and mesmerizing vocals, combined with Robin Guthrie's lush guitar textures and innovative production techniques, defined the band's signature sound. Despite internal tensions and creative differences leading to Heggie's departure in 1983, Cocteau Twins continued to push musical boundaries and influence a generation of artists. The band disbanded in 1997, leaving behind a legacy of atmospheric and otherworldly music that continues to resonate with listeners worldwide.
