Hoobastank is an American rock band formed in 1994 in Agoura Hills, California. The group originally consisted of lead vocalist Doug Robb, guitarist Dan Estrin, bassist Markku Lappalainen, and drummer Chris Hesse. They gained significant attention with their self-titled debut album released in 2001, which included the hit single "Crawling in the Dark." However, it was their second album, "The Reason" (2003), that catapulted them to mainstream success, featuring the iconic title track that topped charts and received extensive radio play. The band's sound is characterized by a blend of post-grunge and alternative rock, often marked by emotionally charged lyrics and melodic hooks. Over the years, Hoobastank has released several albums, including "Every Man for Himself" (2006) and "For(n)ever" (2012), showcasing their evolution while maintaining their signature style. They have toured extensively, sharing stages with prominent acts and participating in various music festivals. Hoobastank continues to be a notable presence in the rock music scene, appealing to both long-time fans and new listeners alike.
