Artist Biography
Aubrey Brain (1893-1955) was a prominent British horn player known for his exceptional skill and artistry. He was a member of the London Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra, where he showcased his virtuosity and musical sensitivity. Brain's contributions to the horn repertoire include numerous recordings and performances that have solidified his legacy as one of the finest horn players of his time. Dennis Brain (1921-1957), son of Aubrey Brain, followed in his father's footsteps and became one of the most celebrated horn players of the 20th century. Known for his brilliant technique and lyrical playing, Dennis Brain was a member of the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. His interpretations of Mozart's horn concertos are considered definitive recordings and have inspired generations of horn players around the world. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) was a prolific and influential composer of the Classical era.
