Artist Biography
Frank Black And The Catholics was a side project formed by American musician Charles Michael Kittridge Thompson IV, better known by his stage name Frank Black or Black Francis. The band was active from 1998 to 2003 and released a total of six studio albums during their time together. Following the breakup of the influential alternative rock band Pixies in 1993, Frank Black pursued a solo career and eventually formed The Catholics as a way to explore a more raw and spontaneous musical direction. The band's sound was characterized by a mix of garage rock, punk, and Americana influences, with Black's distinctive vocals and songwriting at the forefront.
