Sarah Vaughan, also known as "Sassy" and "The Divine One," was an American jazz singer with a voice that has been described as one of the greatest in the history of music. She rose to fame in the 1940s and 1950s, known for her incredible vocal range, control, and improvisational skills. Vaughan's career spanned over five decades, during which she recorded numerous albums and performed with legendary musicians such as Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Dizzy Gillespie. Some of her most famous songs include "Misty," "Lullaby of Birdland," and "Whatever Lola Wants." Throughout her career, Vaughan received multiple Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Jazz Hall of Fame. She passed away on April 3, 1990, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most influential and talented jazz vocalists of all time.
