About The Nixons
The Nixons are an American alternative rock band formed in 1995 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Zac Maloy, bassist and backing vocalist Jake R. Smith, guitarist and keyboardist David D. O'Neill, and drummer and backing vocalist, Chris W. Wiggins. They gained prominence in the late 1990s with their self-titled debut album, which featured the hit single "Sister." Their sound, characterized by melodic hooks and introspective lyrics, resonated with audiences during the post-grunge era. The band's follow-up album, "Foma," released in 1997, included popular tracks like "Bitter" and "The Fall," further solidifying their presence in the rock scene. Despite their initial success, The Nixons faced challenges with label support and lineup changes, leading to a hiatus in the early 2000s. They reunited in 2009 and have since performed at various festivals and events. Their music continues to be appreciated for its emotional depth and catchy melodies, marking them as an influential band of their time.
