In 1966, Bacalov won an Academy Award for Best Original Score for his work on the film "The Gospel According to St. Matthew," directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini. Throughout his career, Bacalov collaborated with renowned filmmakers such as Quentin Tarantino and Sergio Corbucci, composing memorable scores for films like "Django" and "Kill Bill: Volume 2."
