Artist Biography
Live is an American rock band formed in York, Pennsylvania in 1984. The band originally consisted of lead vocalist Ed Kowalczyk, guitarist Chad Taylor, bassist Patrick Dahlheimer, and drummer Chad Gracey. Live rose to fame in the 1990s with their hit albums "Throwing Copper" and "Secret Samadhi." Known for their powerful live performances and introspective lyrics, Live's music often explores themes of spirituality, personal growth, and social issues. Their anthemic songs, such as "Lightning Crashes" and "I Alone," became radio staples and solidified their place in the alternative rock scene of the era. Despite internal conflicts leading to Kowalczyk's departure in 2009, Live continued to release music with new lead vocalist Chris Shinn. In 2016, Kowalczyk rejoined the band, reuniting the original lineup. With a career spanning over three decades, Live has left a lasting impact on the rock music landscape, earning a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim for their passionate performances and thought-provoking songwriting.
