Artist Biography
Hal Ketchum was an American country music artist born on April 9, 1953, in Greenwich, New York. He began his music career in the 1980s, playing in clubs and honky-tonks before gaining recognition for his songwriting skills. Ketchum released his debut album, "Threadbare Alibis," in 1988, but it was his second album, "Past the Point of Rescue," released in 1991, that brought him mainstream success. The title track from the album became a Top 5 hit on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Throughout his career, Ketchum continued to release successful albums and singles, including hits like "Small Town Saturday Night" and "Hearts Are Gonna Roll." Known for his soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics, Ketchum's music resonated with country music fans around the world. In addition to his musical talents, Ketchum was also a skilled painter and pursued a career in visual arts. Despite facing health challenges later in life, Hal Ketchum continued to perform and create music until his retirement in 2019. He passed away on November 23, 2020, leaving behind a legacy of timeless country music.
