Tracie Spencer is an American R&B and pop singer who rose to fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Born on July 12, 1976, in Waterloo, Iowa, Spencer began singing at a young age and quickly garnered attention for her powerful vocal abilities. She was discovered by music producer Teddy Riley and signed to Capitol Records at the age of 11. In 1988, Spencer released her debut self-titled album, which spawned the hit single "Hide and Seek."
