Artist Biography

Blind Melon was an American rock band formed in 1990 in Los Angeles, California. The band's original members included Shannon Hoon (vocals), Rogers Stevens (guitar), Christopher Thorn (guitar), Brad Smith (bass), and Glen Graham (drums). They rose to fame with their hit single "No Rain" from their self-titled debut album released in 1992. The song's quirky music video featuring a girl in a bee costume became iconic and helped propel the band to mainstream success. Despite their initial success, Blind Melon faced challenges, including Hoon's struggles with drug addiction. Tragically, Shannon Hoon passed away from a drug overdose in 1995, leading to the band's eventual breakup. Blind Melon reunited in 2006 with a new lead vocalist, Travis Warren, and have continued to tour and release new music. Blind Melon's music is characterized by its eclectic sound blending elements of rock, folk, and psychedelia, as well as introspective and often poignant lyrics. They have left a lasting impact on the alternative rock scene of the 1990s.
