Artist Biography
INXS was an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1977. The band's original lineup consisted of Garry Gary Beers on bass guitar, brothers Andrew Farriss on keyboards/guitar and Jon Farriss on drums, Kirk Pengilly on guitar/saxophone, Tim Farriss on lead guitar, and charismatic frontman Michael Hutchence on vocals. INXS quickly rose to fame in the 1980s and 1990s with their unique blend of rock, pop, and funk music. Their breakthrough album, "Kick," released in 1987, catapulted them to international stardom with hit singles like "Need You Tonight," "Devil Inside," and "New Sensation." INXS became known for their electrifying live performances and Hutchence's magnetic stage presence. Tragically, Michael Hutchence passed away in 1997, marking the end of an era for the band. Despite this loss, INXS continued to perform with different lead singers, but never quite recaptured their earlier success.
