Artist Biography

Buddy Holly, born Charles Hardin Holley on September 7, 1936, in Lubbock, Texas, was a pioneering figure in the rock and roll genre. Alongside his band The Crickets, he produced a string of hits that have since become classics, including "That'll Be the Day," "Peggy Sue," and "Everyday." His use of double-tracked vocals and innovative guitar techniques also set him apart from his peers. Tragically, Buddy Holly's life was cut short at the age of 22 in a plane crash on February 3, 1959, alongside fellow musicians Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper.
