Artist Biography
INXS was an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1977. The band's original members were Garry Gary Beers on bass guitar, brothers Andrew Farriss on keyboards/guitar, Jon Farriss on drums, Tim Farriss on lead guitar, and Kirk Pengilly on guitar/saxophone. Michael Hutchence joined as the lead vocalist shortly after the band's formation. INXS gained international fame in the 1980s and 1990s with their unique blend of rock, pop, and funk music. The band released a string of successful albums, including "Kick" in 1987, which featured hit singles like "Need You Tonight" and "Never Tear Us Apart." INXS won numerous awards and accolades throughout their career, including multiple MTV Video Music Awards and ARIA Awards. Michael Hutchence's charismatic stage presence and powerful vocals were a defining element of the band's sound and image. Tragically, Michael Hutchence passed away in 1997, leading to the eventual disbandment of INXS. Despite this loss, the band's legacy and music continue to be celebrated by fans around the world.
