Artist Biography
Margaret Cho is a groundbreaking Korean-American comedian, actress, and singer-songwriter known for her fearless and unapologetic approach to addressing social and political issues. Born on December 5, 1968, in San Francisco, California, Cho began performing stand-up comedy at a young age and quickly gained recognition for her sharp wit and candid humor. Cho's career took off in the early 1990s with her one-woman show, "I'm the One That I Want," which later became a successful film and book. She continued to push boundaries with her work, tackling topics such as race, sexuality, and body image with honesty and humor. In addition to her comedy career, Cho has appeared in numerous films and television shows, including "All-American Girl," which made her the first Asian-American to star in her own sitcom. She has also released music albums and is a passionate advocate for LGBTQ rights and mental health awareness. Margaret Cho's impact on the entertainment industry extends far beyond her comedy, as she continues to use her platform to amplify marginalized voices and spark important conversations.
