Artist Biography

Henry Mancini (1924-1994) was an American composer, conductor, and arranger, best known for his iconic film and television scores. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Mancini showed musical talent from a young age and went on to study at the renowned Juilliard School of Music in New York City. Mancini's career took off in the 1950s when he began composing music for movies and television shows. He is perhaps most famous for his work on the film "Breakfast at Tiffany's," for which he won an Academy Award for the song "Moon River." He also composed the theme music for the popular television series "Peter Gunn" and "The Pink Panther." Throughout his career, Mancini received numerous awards for his contributions to music, including four Academy Awards and twenty Grammy Awards. His unique blend of jazz and classical influences made him one of the most beloved and influential composers of the 20th century.
