Big Country is a Scottish rock band formed in 1981 in Dunfermline, Scotland. The band's unique sound is characterized by their use of the guitar-driven "bagpipe" sound created by guitarist Stuart Adamson. Big Country gained international success in the 1980s with their debut album "The Crossing," which featured hits like "In a Big Country" and "Fields of Fire."
