Artist Biography
Elastica was a British alternative rock band formed in London in 1992. The band was heavily influenced by post-punk and new wave music, creating a sound that was both edgy and catchy. Fronted by lead vocalist and guitarist Justine Frischmann, Elastica gained popularity in the mid-1990s with their self-titled debut album, which featured hit singles like "Connection" and "Stutter". Known for their minimalist and angular guitar-driven sound, Elastica quickly became one of the leading bands in the Britpop movement alongside acts like Blur and Oasis. Despite their relatively short career, the band left a lasting impact on the music scene with their infectious hooks and Frischmann's distinctive vocals. After releasing their second album "The Menace" in 2000, Elastica disbanded in 2001. Though their time together was brief, Elastica's music continues to be celebrated by fans of 90s alternative rock.
