Olive is a British electronic music duo formed in 1996, consisting of vocalist Ruth-Ann Boyle and producers Tim Kellett and Adam Woods. They gained significant recognition in the late 1990s with their unique blend of trip-hop, downtempo, and electronic music. Their debut album, "Extra Virgin," released in 1997, featured the hit single "You're Not Alone," which became a staple on radio and in clubs, showcasing Boyle's haunting vocals and the duo's atmospheric soundscapes. Following their initial success, Olive released a second album, "Trickle," in 2000, which continued to explore their signature sound but did not achieve the same level of commercial success as their debut. Despite this, the duo remained influential within the electronic music scene. Their music has been featured in various films, TV shows, and commercials, solidifying their presence in popular culture. After a long hiatus, Olive reunited in the 2010s, hinting at new music and performances. Their ability to blend emotional depth with electronic elements has left a lasting impact on fans and artists alike, marking them as a notable act in the evolution of electronic music.
