The Traveling Wilburys were a supergroup formed in 1988, consisting of five legendary musicians: George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, and Roy Orbison. The group came together almost by accident when Harrison was working on a B-side for his single and realized he needed some help. The chemistry between the musicians was instant, and they decided to collaborate on a full album. Their debut album, "Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1," was released in 1988 to critical acclaim and commercial success. The album featured a blend of rock, folk, and country influences, showcasing the individual talents of each member while also highlighting their strong musical camaraderie. Hits like "Handle with Care" and "End of the Line" became instant classics. Tragically, the group's success was short-lived, as Roy Orbison passed away shortly after the release of their first album.
