Artist Biography
The Psychedelic Furs are an English rock band formed in London in 1977. The band was originally led by brothers Richard Butler (vocals) and Tim Butler (bass), along with guitarist John Ashton, saxophonist Duncan Kilburn, drummer Roger Morris, and keyboardist Vince Ely. Known for their post-punk and new wave sound, The Psychedelic Furs gained popularity in the 1980s with hits like "Love My Way," "Pretty in Pink," and "The Ghost in You." Their self-titled debut album was released in 1980, followed by several successful albums including "Talk Talk Talk" (1981) and "Forever Now" (1982). The band's music is characterized by Richard Butler's distinctive raspy vocals, combined with a mix of punk energy and melodic hooks. The Psychedelic Furs disbanded in the early 1990s but reunited in 2000 and have continued to tour and release new music. Their influence can be heard in the work of many alternative and indie rock bands that followed in their footsteps.
