Artist Biography
Great White is an American hard rock band that rose to fame in the 1980s. Formed in Los Angeles in 1977, the band's original lineup consisted of Jack Russell (vocals), Mark Kendall (guitar), Lorne Black (bass), Gary Holland (drums), and Audie Desbrow (drums). Known for their blues-infused rock sound and energetic live performances, Great White gained popularity with their self-titled debut album in 1984. The band achieved mainstream success with their hit album "Once Bitten" in 1987, which featured the chart-topping single "Rock Me." Great White continued to release albums throughout the 1990s and 2000s, solidifying their status as a staple of the hard rock scene. Great White faced tragedy in 2003 when a fire broke out at one of their concerts in Rhode Island, resulting in the deaths of 100 people. The band regrouped and continued to tour and release new music, with Jack Russell leading the lineup. Despite various lineup changes over the years, Great White remains a beloved and influential band in the hard rock genre.
