About Quarterflash
Quarterflash is an American rock band that emerged in the early 1980s, known for their blend of rock, pop, and new wave influences. Formed in Portland, Oregon, in 1980, the group consisted of band members Marv Ross, Rindy Ross, Jack Charles, and others. They gained significant attention with their self-titled debut album released in 1981, which featured the hit single "Harden My Heart." This track showcased their signature sound, characterized by Rindy Ross's powerful vocals and Marv Ross's guitar work, and it climbed to the top of the charts, reaching number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. Quarterflash's music is marked by catchy melodies and a distinctive blend of rock and pop elements, which resonated with audiences during the early '80s. Their follow-up album, "Take Another Bite," included other notable tracks, but they did not replicate the same level of commercial success. Despite their brief period of mainstream popularity, Quarterflash remains a beloved act from the era, celebrated for their contributions to the rock genre and their memorable hits. The band has continued to perform and release music, maintaining a loyal fan base over the decades.
