The Story Behind Sparkle And Fade by Everclear

Some records come with a story attached, and Sparkle And Fade by Everclear has a good one. As Wikipedia puts it, “Sparkle and Fade is the second album by American rock band Everclear, released in 1995. It was their first album to be released exclusively on Capitol Records; their previous effort, World of Noise, was re-released on Capitol after its introduction through the Portland, Oregon based label, Tim/Kerr Records.”
Wikipedia’s article on it talks about “Heroin Girl”, “You Make Me Feel Like A Whore” and “Santa Monica”, and all of them are right here on this CD. One of those songs has its own back story. In Wikipedia’s words, “Trouser Press wrote that 'the sheer radiance of songs like 'Santa Monica' (which demands repeated listens) adds to the luster of this unexpected gem.'” Altogether the disc holds 14 tracks and about 43 minutes of music, opening with “Electra Made Me Blind” and closing with “My Sexual Life”. Alternative rock went its own way, guitars and attitude included.
Put it on, turn it up and let “Heroin Girl” set the mood. Our copy is in Near Mint (NM or M-) condition and is priced at $4.39. Tap the button below to see the photos and order it.
