Artist Biography
Manuel Barrueco is a Cuban classical guitarist known for his unique interpretations and flawless technique. Born in 1952 in Santiago de Cuba, Barrueco began playing the guitar at a young age and went on to study at the Esteban Salas Conservatory in Havana. He later continued his studies at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, where he is now a faculty member. Barrueco has performed with many prestigious orchestras and has released numerous acclaimed recordings, showcasing his mastery of both traditional and contemporary classical guitar repertoire. Barbara Hendricks is an American operatic soprano and concert singer renowned for her versatility and expressive vocal style. Born in 1948 in Stephens, Arkansas, Hendricks studied at the Juilliard School in New York City before embarking on a successful international career. She has performed at major opera houses and concert halls around the world, earning praise for her interpretations of a wide range of repertoire, from Mozart and Verdi to contemporary works. In addition to her singing career, Hendricks is also known for her humanitarian work as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
